I wrote this song titled "My Old House" to share the fond memories I have of growing up in Western Pennsylvania.
Luckily I had a lot of photos of my childhood home being built- which is pretty cool to see it come together and it was fun to put a soundtrack to these photos.
The journey of "My Old House" starts with my father, fresh home after WWII, marrying my mother, and with what little savings they had, buying a small plot to build a house on.
I don't have all the details, but my dad was able to buy the design (a prefab) from a Sears Catalogue. After doing the hard work of laying the foundation, the framing arrived on a flat bed to bring it all together. He and his Dad (my Grandfather) were able to do all the plumbing, electrical work, roofing etc. on their own. I'm sure he hired out what he could, but that generation knew all the trades.
Anyways, although it was small house — 2 bedroom, 1 bath with an eventual basement finished for more room — that fit my mom and dad, my four sisters and I, it was home. A home full of love, happiness and many cherished memories over the years.
Those simpler times will always be missed, no matter how much time has passed. But music to share my story helps keep those memories alive.

Trying to hold it together for the last song of my set, "Let it Go", it is a heartfelt song about me trying to get home to see my Father one last time before his passing. I almost made it, he passed away about the same time as my plane touched down. RIP Dad!
One of my favorite guitar players is Chet Atkins- I tried to do a little homage to him (tried is the optimal word). A little montage of various covers that he did; "Don't Think Twice" (Dylan), "Mr. Bojangles" (Walker), "Freight Train" (E. Cotton), & "Wildwood Flower" (Carter Sisters)."
